Hockey Blast

Text message terms

Hockey Blast game alerts — what we text, how often, and how to stop.

What this is

Hockey Blast is a site for adult recreational hockey players. If you add a mobile number and agree to texts, we text you about games you could play or are running:

That is the whole list. We never send marketing, promotions or anything on behalf of someone else.

How you sign up

Texts are off until you switch them on. In Settings → How we tell you (or the Quick setup card when you join) you type your number and tick a box next to these words:

Text me at this number. We text only about games you could play — never marketing. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP any time.

A second, separate box — unticked unless you tick it — allows texts outside normal hours:

Late or early texts are fine (before 8 AM, after 9 PM) when the game is within 3 hours.

We then text a 6-digit code to the number and you type it back, so nobody can sign up a number that is not theirs. Giving us a number is never required to use the site: the same alerts reach you on the site and by email.

How often

It varies with how many teams need players. We send no more than 3 game-request texts to one person in 24 hours, and none between 9 PM and 8 AM Pacific unless you ticked the second box and the game starts within 3 hours. Most people get a few texts a month.

How to stop, and how to get help

When a text says a team needs a player, replying IN tells that team you can play, and OUT takes it back — the same as the buttons on the page. We answer with one text.

Reply STOP to any text. You get one last text confirming it, we delete your number, and the alerts keep reaching you by email. You can also switch texts off, or remove your number, in Settings.

Reply HELP for help, or write to kletskov@gmail.com. To start again after STOP, add your number again in Settings.

Cost

We do not charge for texts. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Your number

Your number is used to text you, and — only if you separately choose to — shown to the captain or the player you are arranging a game with. It is never shown on a public page. We do not sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text-message consent with anyone for their own marketing, ever. The texts themselves are delivered for us by Twilio. More in the privacy page.
