Hockey Blast

Terms

The rules of using Hockey Blast, in plain language.

What Hockey Blast is

A community site for adult recreational hockey, built from public league scoresheets: player and team pages, box scores, video clips, and ways for players to find each other — a goalie for tonight, a team for the season, someone to sharpen skates. It is run by a player, not a company with a support desk. It is free.

Who can use it

Anyone can read the public pages. To have an account you must be 18 or older. Offering to fill in, looking for a team and answering a request each ask you to confirm that.

One person, one account, under your real name. Claim only the player that is you. We review claims and can undo one.

We introduce people. We are not a party to what they arrange.

When a captain finds a goalie here, or a player gets skates sharpened by another player, that arrangement is between the two of them. Hockey Blast does not employ, vet, insure or vouch for anyone, does not handle money, and is not responsible for whether someone shows up, how they play, what they charge, or the condition of your skates.

What you post

Requests, notes, listings, messages and photos are yours, and you are responsible for them. Keep them true and about hockey. Do not post a request for a team you do not help run, a number that is not yours, or anything meant to harass, mislead or sell something unrelated. We remove what breaks this and may close the account behind it.

A team role (captain, assistant captain, manager) you declare is shown publicly on that team's page and on the requests you post.

Information about rinks and shops

Pro shop hours and prices are copied from what each shop publishes, with the date we last checked. Shops change their hours. Call before a special trip. If you run a shop and something is wrong, tell us from the listing and we will fix it.

Schedules, scores and stats come from the leagues' own scoresheets and can be late or wrong in the same ways those are. “Usually in net” is a guess from past games, labelled as one.

Your information

The privacy page says what we collect and what we refuse to. If you want your player removed from the site entirely, ask — there is a global opt-out and it is enforced everywhere. Text messages have their own terms.

The usual

The site is provided as it is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, Hockey Blast and the people who build it are not liable for losses that come from using it or from arrangements made through it. We can change these terms; when we do, the date below changes and anything significant is announced on the site. California law governs them.
